Lake Tisza bicycle tours
The Lake Tisza cycle path leads along the flood protection embankment – better known as the dam – mostly on a high-quality asphalt road. You can cycle in safety, on a protected route, as vehicle traffic is limited here for a significant part of the year. Only during the off-season, from autumn to spring, we can see slightly more cars in these parts.
The cycle path can be divided into two larger circles. Both sections are both 65 km long, and they can be covered separately or together. The terrain is easy, there are no climbs, so you have the opportunity to admire nature on the way. The water is on one side, fields and diverse forests on the other side.
If you deviate from the cycle path, you can also explore the surrounding settlements within a few kilometers. You look around at a pleasant, relaxed pace, with family and friends, stopping and talking, or pushing your limits. The choice is yours. And if you ask, the best Tisza Lake lap time is within 1 hour and 20 minutes on the 65 km section! What do you think, would it work for you too? It’s worth a try – or simply opt for the loose roll.
You can bring your own bike or rent one, the experience is the same. But no matter where you go around the lake, be sure to include the Kérész Center for an easy rest.
